Documenting the Journey
Someone just like you
As a child, I loved watching nature documentaries and shows like "The Crocodile Hunter" and "Big Cat Diary" on Animal Planet. Later, I dabbled in vlogging and filming as a hobby. After graduating from college, I realized that becoming a vagabond was necessary to maintain my career in conservation. Often going to remote locations for work, I built an off-grid camper van and began living out of it full-time with my dog, Solo. When not traveling to visit cool cities and places I had always wanted to see, I spent my working days conducting wildlife surveys and field research. Over time, I gained a lot of experience in conservation, film production, and public speaking. As an immigrant, transgender person of color (and self-identified Nerd) I had a multicultural experience. However, I rarely saw representation of people like me, especially in conservation or film. I felt a calling to show people what my life looked like and to give an honest account of my experiences while sharing my perspective and vision for a more inclusive and equitable future. I wanted to provide people, especially other queer and trans individuals, a glimpse of what is possible when we liberate ourselves and proudly pursue our dreams and passions.
